Our mission
Freedom Ride Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that rescues neglected and abused horses and partners with veterans and at-risk youth for equine-assisted healing programs.
“The first time I got on a horse I hadn't spoken in weeks. By the end of that session, I couldn't stop talking. These animals saved my life.”
About
Freedom Ride Rescue was founded in 2016 by a veteran and a horse trainer who believed that healing could happen in unexpected places — namely, in the company of a 1,200-pound animal who doesn't judge, doesn't talk back, and doesn't care about your rank. We rescue horses from abuse and neglect situations and place them in our therapeutic programs. Over 400 veterans and 200 at-risk youth have gone through our programs since we opened.
