A few words about who we are and what we believe.
Our story
Kannect started with a frustration most community organizations recognize. The chamber of commerce running their member list in a spreadsheet. The nonprofit juggling Mailchimp and Eventbrite and Facebook Groups. The faith community whose pastor was tired of asking the church secretary to update three different websites every week.
The tools existed. They just didn't talk to each other, didn't fit smaller organizations, and didn't include public discovery in any meaningful way. So we built one platform — Kannect — that handles events, groups, resources, members, messaging, payments, and discovery in one place. Affordable. Independent. Built for organizations rather than for advertisers.
What we believe
We believe community organizations deserve software that works for them, not against them. We believe deliverability is a feature — every message you post should reach every member who opted in. We believe ownership is a feature — your member data is yours, exportable at any time, never sold or rented to advertisers. We believe affordability is a feature — the entry-level paid plan is $15/month and it will stay that way.
We believe Kannect should be independent. Privately held, founder-run, not for sale to the holding companies currently consolidating community-tech platforms. We make decisions based on what's right for the communities we serve, not what's right for an acquirer's quarterly returns.
We believe community discovery should be free and public. The Discover layer is the public square — anyone can browse, anyone can find, anyone can show up. No paywall on discovery. Ever.
What we build
We build Kannect — the community OS where organizations run their events, members, resources, and communications. We build Kannect Discover — the public discovery network where members of the public find communities to join. We build Kannect Community Hub — where members stay connected to the organizations they care about. We build branded community websites at web.kannect.co. We will keep building, openly and intentionally, with input from the communities we serve.
